North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust has appointed Lyn Simpson as the new Chief Executive.
Lyn said “It is with immense pride that I have accepted the position of Chief Executive for North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. It’s such an exciting time to be joining this newly formed trust and I look forward to working with all staff and partners to deliver the best possible health care for the communities we serve.”
Lyn began her career as a nurse and trained as a midwife and health visitor before progression to management and leadership roles.
Her director level experience includes Executive Director of Nursing at Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and more recently she has held a number of high profile roles, at the Department of Health, and as Deputy Chief Executive in South London Healthcare NHS Trust. Lyn is currently the Director of Integration and Transformation in the Tees Valley patch for NHS Improvement.
Commenting on the appointment, Chair of NCIC Prof Robin Talbot said “I’m delighted to welcome Lyn as Chief Executive. Her appointment will provide a clear focus on driving our new organisation forward as both a great place to receive care and a great place to work.”
Lyn will join the newly merged trust early in the New Year and will succeed Professor Stephen Eames CBE.
