NHS ConfedExpo cancelled in wake of Corona spread

The NHS ConfedExpo, described as being ‘set to be one of the UK’s biggest health and care events’ has been cancelled.

The event was to take place in June of this year.

In a tweet this afternoon, organisers announced the decision to scrap plans for hosting the event.

“@NHSConfed & @NHSEngland have taken the decision to cancel #ConfedExpo20.”

“As our event was planned for June, we do not think it is appropriate to divert staff time away from supporting the COVID-19 incident.”

“Details about refunds etc. can be found online https://t.co/LHYpy1jElm

The venue for the event was Manchester Central on the 10th and 11th of June.

On their website, the ConfedExpo team state that “the current national focus is on delaying the peak of the spread of Coronavirus to the summer”

“Our top priority is to help local services ensure that they can provide patients with the care they need.”

“As our event was planned for June, we do not think it is appropriate to divert staff time during what we can expect to be a period of increased activity for the health and care sector.”

The event has been moved to the 16th and 17th June 2021, again to be held at Manchester Central.
