6,573,570 receive first dose COVID-19 vaccine, reaching a daily high of 491,970

On Monday 11th January the UK Government started to publish daily figures on the number of people receiving COVID-19 vaccinations. At this time, 2,286,572 people had received a first dose of any vaccine, while 314, 084 people had been given a second dose.

Since then, on Monday 25th January, the total number of people to receive the first dose of any vaccine was 6,573,570, and 470,478 of the second dose.

This means 4,286,998 have received the first dose in this two week period, a rate of 2,143,499 each week.

The number of people who receive the first dose is almost at a rate of half a million each day; with the highest daily number recorded being at 491,970 to receive the first dose (Saturday 23rd January).

The Government set a target to reach 15 million of the most vulnerable by mid-February.
