22.2m receive first dose and 1.1m second dose of COVID-19 vaccines

In the past seven days 2,123,561 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccines.

The total to have now received the vaccine has reached 22,213,112, up from 20,089,551 on 28 February.

For the first time the number of people who have received the second dose has exceeded 1 million, reaching a total of 1,122,402, as of 7 March 2021.

It means that 326,270 people received the second dose in the past seven days, significantly higher than 180,984 who had received the dose the seven days prior.

The number of patients who require ventilation support is lower, for a consecutive week; however, at the moment there are 1,542 patients who need this type of support in hospital.
