University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) has appointed a new Chief Executive.
Eugine Yafele has been chosen for the role and joins UHBW from Dorset HealthCare University Foundation Trust, where he held the same position.
Eugine led Dorset HealthCare to achieve a Care Quality Commission (CQC) rating of ‘Outstanding’ in his first year as the trust’s Chief Exec. Under his leadership, the trust has also ranked amongst the top four in the annual staff survey for three consecutive years.
A nurse by background, Eugine is also a board member on the NHS Employers Policy Board and Chair of the NHS England and NHS Improvement South West Regional People Board.
Additionally, he is also the Senior Responsible Officer for the Out of Hospital Transformation programme, Urgent and Emergency Care Board and has ‘led and supported elective recovery’ for the Dorset Integrated Care System.
Eugine takes over the role at UHBW from Robert Woolley, who is set to retire at the end of March 2022, after 12 years of leading the trust and an NHS career spanning more than three decades.
