North West Surrey Health and Care Alliance launches community Tribe app

North West Surrey Health and Care Alliance has recently launched Tribe, a new app designed to support local communities across Spelthorne and Woking boroughs.

Tribe is a digital platform where residents can stay up to date on what is going in their local area with activities, groups and events being updated on the app.

Local groups, organisations and people hosting events can upload details of inclusive communal activities such as health, fitness and sport activities; parent and toddler groups; community hubs and advice centres; youth activities; and courses and training.

The aim of the app is to create connections between people in the community, creating a digital space where they can support each other and access the care and information they need. The app will is intended to help to facilitate social interaction between people, in the hope of reducing loneliness and improving mental-health within the community.

Councillor Ellen Nicholson from Woking Borough Council’s Portfolio for Living Well said: “This new digital platform connects residents seeking support with their health and wellbeing to caring individuals within their community, whilst also making it easy to find local groups and activities all in the palm of your hand. Being connected with those in your local community is invaluable and helps to support positive wellbeing.”
