New resource pack launched by HEE to help doctors in Foundation training

A pack of new resources has been produced by Health Education England working alongside their partners which aim to ease doctors into Foundation training as well as supporting them during the programme.

HEE’s review of the Foundation Medical Training Programme resulted in a number of recommendations to improve support for trainees, educators and the system as a whole, hence the development of the new resource pack.

The pack was launched on the 25th June and contains information and guidance which will help new doctors as they start their training in August this year.

The pack contains seven elements including shadowing guidance, Foundation charter, beyond foundation web link, introduction to e-learning for health, mentorship, SDT time information and information on the HEE Foundation Conference.

Professor Sheona MacLeod, acting Medical Director, Health Education England, said:

“We are confident these new resources will ensure trainee doctors are better supported, and will in turn help lead to a higher-quality service for patients.”

The is available on the HEE website and will also be distributed widely via stakeholders including NHS employers and the British Medical Association.
