Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLaG) has released a brief overview of its plans and priorities for the new year.
As part of its ‘Building Our Future’ series, the trust communicated its ambitions and expectations for 2022.
Last year, the NLaG began a large-scale building programme which included an £8 million MRI suite and £1.6 million Coastal CT suite for Grimbsy Hospital, as well as a £300,000 upgrade for an X-Ray room at Goole, and preparations for the construction of new Emergency Departments for its Grimbsy and Scunthorpe hospitals.
This year, NLaG has detailed what to expect over the next 12 months, too. Plans for January to March include a refurbishment of Ward 25 at Scunthorpe, featuring 14 single, ensuite rooms and dedicated staff areas, as well as a drive from the Digital Services team to cut down on paper and move towards a ‘digital first’ model of working.
April to September, meanwhile, are expected to see work on the new Grimsby Emergency Department finished, followed by the transformation of the old A&E unit into a new, streamlined Acute Assessment Unit (AAU), which is tipped to be running by 2023.
While the end of the year, from October to December, will include the completion of work by the Digital Services team to implement a new Patient Administration System (PAS). The new Scunthorpe Emergency Department is also due at the end of the year and, as with Grimsby, work will start to convert the old A&E into to an Acute Assessment Unit.
