SFHFT appoints new Chief Executive

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has appointed a new Chief Executive.

Paul Robinson, who has been Interim Chief Executive at the trust since September last year, will take up the role permanently.

Paul has served the NHS for over 30 years and has held two previous director-level roles, working as the Deputy Chief Executive in 2019 and Financial Director.

Claire Ward, Chair, Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation, said: “I am delighted Paul has been successful and he will be continuing to lead our hospitals as we emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic and focus on the challenges ahead as a leading member within Nottinghamshire’s new Integrated Care System.

“As Finance Director and Deputy Chief Executive he has played a key role in #TeamSFH’s ongoing quality improvement journey over the past six years, making a real difference to the care and services we deliver for our patients.

“During this time, we have achieved our Care Quality Commission rating of Good for the Trust as a whole and our King’s Mill site is now rated as Outstanding, and we were the Health Service Journal’s 2020 Acute Trust of the Year.

On his new appointment, Paul commented: “I am delighted and extremely privileged to have been chosen to lead Sherwood Forest. I am proud of the quality of care we provide to patients and their families, and I am now looking forward to continuing to support everyone in #TeamSFH as they continue their excellent work.

“My role now is to help all colleagues maintain their focus on even better outcomes for patients and improving the health and wellbeing of our local communities in an open and transparent culture where everyone has a voice.”
