Royal Papworth appoints new chief executive

Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has appointed Eilish Midlane as its new Chief Executive.

In 2017, Eilish joined Royal Papworth from East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, where she was the Divisional Director of Clinical Support Services.

Eilish is set to take up the role when current Chief Executive Stephen Posey leaves the trust later this month. Tim Glenn, Chief Finance Officer, is to take on the position of Deputy Chief Executive.

Announcing the appointment, Chairman Professor John Wallwork said: “Eilish brings a wealth of strategic experience at an executive leadership level. As well as a detailed knowledge of the fabric of our organisation and our ambitions, Eilish provides the resilience to help the Trust meet the challenges and changes facing the health service.

“Eilish holds significant NHS expertise in service improvement and delivery, and I am delighted that she is taking up this position as we continue on our journey to deliver tomorrow’s treatments to today’s patients.”

Commenting on the news, Eilish said: “It is a huge privilege to be given the opportunity to take up the role of Chief Executive at an organisation with a regional, national, and international reputation for excellence and innovation.

“I have been proud to have been part of the Trust’s transformational journey over the past five years. I am looking forward to working alongside our committed and hardworking staff, and harnessing the skills and talents of our people, to continue on our journey and deliver the highest quality care for our patients.”
