Posted 5 years ago

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services from Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital—and a number of community-based services across London, such as award-winning sexual health and HIV clinics.

The Trust has over 6,000 staff proudly serving a million people locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. We treat a patient every 40 seconds, performing 34,000 operations and carrying out 391,000 scans, x-rays and procedures each year. As the second largest maternity provider in the country we help deliver a baby almost every hour of the day. We are one of the best performing trusts in London for A&E waiting times, and our mortality rates are some of the best in the country.

Our Trust has been rated by the Care Quality Commission as ‘Good’ in all five of the main domains of safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led, giving an us overall rating of ‘Good’. We are one of the first trusts to receive ‘Good’ across the board under the new CQC inspection framework. Both hospitals within our Trust—Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital—were rated as ‘Good’ overall.

Our Trust was awarded an ‘Outstanding’ rating for ‘use of resources’ by an NHS Improvement inspection which was completed during the same period as the CQC assessment.

The Role

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has over 6,000 staff proudly serving a million people locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. We are the best performing Trust in London for A&E waiting times; RTT, mortality rates and our quality indicators are among the best in the country. We have recently been rated as ‘Good’ by the national Quality regulator, the Care Quality Commission and ‘Outstanding’ by NHS Improvement on our ‘Use of Resources’. We have a simple vision for our people, which is for them to have the best employee experience nationally. This is an ambitious goal that matches the aspirations of our organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to join as the Deputy Director of People and Organisational Development at a time where there is a real focus from the board on the big people issues facing the organisation. You will play a critical role in enabling the delivery of excellent healthcare services by developing and driving a high performance HR & OD team. You will take a crucial leadership role in the development and delivery of large scale ‘game changers’ in the organisation such as talent management, health & wellbeing initiatives, digital and equality, diversity and inclusion. You would be joining at a time when there is a new HR Director and a real opportunity to shape the agenda going forward – it is an exciting time for the organisation.

You will be a qualified human resources professional, with a significant amount of experience in senior HR roles in an organisation of comparable complexity and scale. With obvious leadership credentials, you will have the interpersonal skills and track record to inspire your team to achieve and exceed performance targets. You will be values driven and have the ability to inspire others.
