JPUHFT appoints new Chief Executive
James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has appointed a new Chief Executive.
Jo Segasby, who has been Chief Operating Officer at the trust since 2019, will take up the new position to replace the current Chief Executive, Anna Hills.
Jo has held managerial positions in Women and Children’s Services, Cancer services, as well as being Operation Director for Surgery at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital from 2014.
On her new role, Jo commented: “I am delighted to have been appointed to the position of Chief Executive of the James Paget, and I am honoured to be leading such a fantastic, compassionate organisation into what is a very bright future.”
BEHMHT rated as ‘Good’ in new CQC report
Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust has been rated as ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission in its new report.
The CQC rated the trust ‘Good’ overall and ‘Good’ at being effective, caring, responsive, and well-led.
The report highlighted that patients were treated with dignity and respect, as well as improvements in the trust’s buildings, such as the redevelopment of ST Ann’s Hospital.
On the new rating, Jinjer Kandola MBE, Chief Executive of the Trust, said: “Today’s report reflects continuing progress we are making, I am very pleased that we have maintained and built on our existing ‘Good’ rating. Given the very tough challenges the whole NHS has faced over the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this is a great achievement.”
EHCC appoints Dementia Care Admiral Nurse
Newham’s East Ham Care Centre has appointed a new specialist Dementia Care Admiral Nurse.
Tracey Connellan, East Ham Care Centre’s Clinician Nurse Manger, has been chosen for the role and will become the borough’s first ever community-based dementia specialist nurse.
For the past five years, Tracy has been working at the East Ham Centre, caring for older adults on the Sally Sherman ward.
Tracy said: “It is a real honour to work with such a fabulous patient group and their carers. There are currently over 300 Admiral Nurses for the whole of the UK and demand for the service has never been greater, particularly as the ongoing impact of Covid-19 continues to create a wide range of problems for those affected by dementia.”
BWCHFT open mental health Urgent Care Centre
Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust (BWCHFT) has opened a new mental health Urgent Care Centre.
The Care Centre has been opened through a partnership with the trust’s 0-25’s Mental Health Service, Forward Thinking Birmingham, and Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation.
Alex Borg, Executive Director of Mental Health Services at BWCHFT, said: “We are thrilled to see the official opening of the Oleaster Urgent Care Centre. The £1million investment has created a purpose-built facility that will be one of the first ‘all-age’ centres for mental health urgent care and is the first step in true partnership working across our mental health care system.
Derbyshire Healthcare appoints Non-Executive Member
Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has appointed a new Non-Executive member to its Board of Dire.
Deborah Good, former Housing Director, has experience serving on various multi-agency boards, where she held roles such as Non-Executive Director at Derwent Living and Executive Director of Customer Experience and Business Support at Solihull Community Housing.
Selina Ullah, Chair of Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, said: “I am looking forward to welcoming Deborah to our Board of Directors. Her wealth of experience will bring an excellent perspective to the Board. It is with great pleasure that we introduce a new colleague who will support the work of the Trust in establishing ways to improve our services to those in the communities we serve.”
