Applications are now open for NICE’s prestigious fellows and scholars programmes, which are entering their eleventh year.
The programmes recognise the achievement and promise of individuals across health and care professions who are working to improve the quality and outcomes of care.
It also fosters a growing network from different disciplines across the country, and provides the unique opportunity to work closely with NICE, influence their work and gain access to a range of career enhancing opportunities.
Both fellowships and scholarships are suited to people working in healthcare, public health and social care, including those working in the charitable or voluntary sectors.
Nicola Bent, deputy director health and social care at NICE, said: “The fellows and scholars programmes were set up to allow us to draw on the real experience of health and care professionals and encourage them to get involved with NICE.”
“They get an opportunity to build networks with like-minded people from different backgrounds. It’s eleven years since we launched the programmes and many of these networks continue today.”
“All our fellows and scholars have been passionate about improving the quality of care and with the support of the programmes, they increase their understanding of NICE and enhance their skills to encourage implementation of innovative and evidence-based care.”
NICE scholarships are one year opportunities to find out about the inner workings of NICE and undertake a supported project, related to NICE products, within a local organisation.
NICE scholars are supported in their project via a series of workshops, access to an experienced senior adviser and contact with the expert teams at NICE. Scholars are expected to devote approximately 7.5 hours per week to the scholarship.
